Singer-songwriter Michael King is hoping for a barnstorming response to his first EP, which is being launched at a free event on Wednesday evening.

He’ll be playing all five tracks from Mirrored Smile at the party in the barn at Hitchin’s town centre Victoria pub.

And there will also be a sneak preview of what the future holds for the popular performer.

And it won’t just be Michael making music – joining him will be David Hayzen, who has performed all the technical trickery to produce the EP, and brother Jason King on accordion and bongos.

Michael studied music at college and over the last three years he’s been building up a steady schedule of pub and private bookings around the area.

The next stage of his recording career is a planned second EP, followed by an album next year.

Michael said: “I’m so excited as this has been a dream for years, and the day is nearly here.”

If you can’t make the Wednesday launch, which starts at 7.30pm, Michael will also be performing at the Angels Share in The Arcade off Hitchin’s Market Place on Saturday night.
