Mary Chapin Carpenter is one of the headliners at this weekend’s annual Folk By The Oak festival in the grounds of Hatfield House.

The bill also includes festival favourites Bellowhead and current album chart successes The Unthanks as well as up and coming names like the Moulettes on the Acorn Stage, which is set aside for emerging talent.

Organisers aim to make Sunday’s gathering – which takes its name from the stately home’s famous oak tree forever linked with Elizabeth I – a real family affair with a craft tent, workshops, children’s activities, storytelling, circus skills, and real ale bar all laid on.

Doors open at 12.30pm and the music starts at 1.30pm, with the final act saying their goodnights at about 10.30pm.

Ticket prices on the day are £42 for adults and £17 for children aged five to 15.
