He may have a reputation as one of the best finger-picking guitarists in the world but you can catch Doyle Dykes, pictured above, for free this weekend.
He’s in England to appear at Olympia’s London Acoustic Show this weekend, where he is scheduled to host a masterclass and booked for a main stage performance.
His repertoire includes hymns alongside classic country songs, Beatles hits, and U2 medleys and his strong faith predates his musicianship – he only took up the guitar after what he describes as “a personal experience with God” at the age of 11.
Doyle has played many times at Nashville’s legendary Grand Ole Opry and played alongside seminal names including with Duane Eddy, Les Paul and Chet Atkins.
Everyone is welcome when Doyle, a regular visitor to Knebworth’s St Martin’s Church in recent years, plays on Sunday night from 7pm.
