Enthusiastic impresario duo Andrew Green and Luke Murphy-Wearmouth are back with another Early Doors Disco bill at Hitchin’s Club 85 next week.
They regularly stage events up in London but are looking to establish the Early Doors name closer to their North Herts homes.
And after their first eclectic showcase at the Whinbush Road venue back in July, when rising names Will Varley, Savage Nomads and Rhys Kirkman were all on the bill, there’s another line-up of up and coming talent scheduled for Saturday, September 19.
Bristol-based indie band The Jacques – two sets of brothers whose work has been compared to Kinks legend Ray Davies and Jam main man Paul Weller – have been honing their stage skills with a string of festival performances this summer including slots at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds.
Another performer with a successful Glastonbury behind him is Declan McKenna, who is just 16 but scooped this year’s Emerging Talent crown at Worthy Farm
His swirly indie pop sound has been making people sit up and take notice and he’s already working on his debut album which is scheduled for release early next year.
His current single Brazil is all about corruption in the corridors of power of world football, and it’s tipped as just the start of a stellar career for the teenager.
Herts-based Lewis Bootle, a singer-songwriter who staked his claim through the BBC Introducing route, completes the bill.
Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets are £7 in advance or £10 on the door, subject to availability.
