Happy birthday to us – Hitchin Folk Club racks up another milestone date on Sunday night, when John Tams and Barry Coope, pictured above, provide the main attraction.
John’s credentials as a member of the Albion Band and Home Service make him a major folk figure, but he’s perhaps best known for his work at the National Theatre and as Rifleman Daniel Hagman in the Sharpe TV series.
Performing partner Barry Coope is one third of award- winning acapella trio Coope, Boyes and Simpson – but for The Sun Hotel gig he’ll be accompanying John on keyboard and harmonies. Edwina Hayes will be performing a curtain raiser, too.
Admission as usual is £12 for members and £14 for non-members, with doors opening at 7.30pm before the music starts at 8.15pm.
You can get more details and find out who else is booked in to the club this season online by visiting www.hitchinfolkclub.co.uk.
