A member of the team at Hitchin’s British Schools Museum will be turning back the clock tonight to cast a little light on Christmas in times gone by.
Curatorial assistant Emily Shepperson is taking as her theme the history of the festive season, and doors open at the Queen Street heritage base at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Emily said: “I’ll be explaining how our Christmas customs came to be – from meaty mince pies to toppling trees and the year Christmas was cancelled, enjoy some unexpected truths and some seasonal objects to illustrate.”
Tickets are £5 which includes mulled wine, visit www.britishschoolsmuseum.co.uk to find out more.
