A season of films examining love in all its many manifestations comes to an end next week.

The Hitchin Films season linked up with the British Film Institute Love season with a programme that picked on movies that weren’t the normal run of the mill date night offerings.

After kicking off with the classic Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert vehicle It Happened One Night, Woody Allen’s Annie Hall and David Lynch’s dark Blue Velvet were the next to be screened.

And it all comes to an end at the town’s Queen Mother Theatre next Tuesday, December 8, with a showing of Wim Wenders’ mesmeric 1987 opus Wings of Desire.

In this art house classic an angel watching over Berlin falls in love with a circus artist and decides to become human.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are only £5. You can book online, and find out what else is in store, by visiting www.hitchinfilms.co.uk.
