Charity is topping the bill at Hitchin’s Club 85 this weekend, with benefit gigs taking to the stage at the Whinbush Road venue on successive nights.

Tomorrow, Friday, night the bill features hard rock, grunge, metal and punk – not the genres you’d normally associate with chipping in for charity, but the Musikal Sin bill featuring Derange, Seasons, Brocker and Godhanger will be helping to support cancer research.

London and Herts-based rockers Derange have been making eaves since the release of their debut album The Awakening, while Seasons is a new project featuring former members of Alone With Wolves and Imicus, and tomorrow night is their debut live appearance. Also appearing are St Albans punk trio Brocker and Stevenage’s Godhanger.

On Saturday rising rockers The Burning Crows, Hertfordshire-based quartet Late Homecoming and female five-piece Taken are on stage to boost Macmillan Cancer Support.

Stevenage woman Karen Broom has organised the fundraiser as she prepares for the Brighton Marathon on April 17.

Tomorrow night’s gig is just £5 and it’s only £1 more to get in on Saturday.
