With the band’s back catalogue spanning more than 30 years to choose from as well as a new stage set, and freshly laundered suits, Jake & Elwood – or Chris Hindle and Gareth Davey – are set to go down a storm at the Gordon Craig Theatre with their Chicago Blues Brothers’ Jailbreak Tour.

The show boasts a nine-piece live band and is packed with more than two hours of blues, motown and soul music from both Blues Brothers movies including hits Everybody Needs Somebody, Soul Man, Respect and Shake a Tail Feather – plus plenty of laughs too!

The Blues Brothers were orginally founded back in 1976 by American comedy actors Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as part of a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live.

Since then they have become cultural phenomenon, spawning tribute acts around the world with award-winning Gareth and Chris at the UK’s forefront.

Bradford-born Chris started singing from an early age at Bradford cathedral choir and later trained at the De Costa academy in York studying the art of Italian Opera – but his heart wasn’t in it and he left it all behind for his true calling as Joliet Jake Blues.

Gareth – from York – was a solo artist for several years, touring throughout the UK, before joining the tribute troupe.

He has always had a love for the blues and started playing the harmonica aged 14, which you can hear in songs such as ‘Everybody’ and ‘Hey Bartender’.

The show starts at 7.30pm on Sunday, June 19. For tickets call the box office on 01438 363200 or go to gordon-craig.co.uk
