Hitchin will be back on the nation’s screens tomorrow evening as BBC One primetime drama Doctor Foster returns for its second series – but how well do you know its links to our town? Take our quiz to find out.
The drama series debuted in September 2015, with Hitchin representing the fictional town of Parminster – and the crowds of production staff in Market Place and the surrounding streets have made a keen impression on onlookers during shooting.
The show follows GP Gemma Foster, who starts to suspect her property developer husband Simon is having an affair – and launches investigations to discover the truth as her world is turned upside down.
Former Coronation Street star Suranne Jones plays the title role, with Bertie Carvel and Robert Pugh also in the cast.
The story picks up two years after the dramatic climax of the first five-episode series – which last year won Suranne three best actress gongs and an award for best drama performance.
Doctor Foster was also named best new drama at the 2016 National Television Awards.
The first series was filmed in Hitchin in March and May 2015, and the finale attracted 10.1 million viewers when it aired in October that year.
The second series, also comprising five episodes, starts on BBC One tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 9pm.
