GCWCF is 23-year-old Sam Duckworth from Southend and his band, whose folky, electro, heartfelt, joyous and sometimes melancholy mixed bag of songs deal with such things as racism, love and escapism.

After critical acclaim with 2006 debut The Chronicles Of A Bohemian Teenager and follow up Searching For The Hows And Whys, Get Cape has just finished album number three due out in September, which includes collaborations with artists as disparate as Shy FX and Baaba Maal.

Explaining his musical approach, Sam said: “People get caught up in pretension, as if music has to be redefined all the time. Why? Communication is the thing - getting a message across. Think of Woody Guthrie and Billy Bragg. Just because a song’s got a simply melody doesn’t make it less important.”

Get Cape will be on the Main Stage of the festival on the Sunday at 8pm.

The 18th ROTW takes place at Hitchin Priory on July 24 and 25. For full details of all the artists playing over the weekend and ticket prices, go to www.rotw.org.uk
