GHOULISH gals and booze zombies will have a Halloween to remember this year with a monster selection of ghastly gigs to sink their fangs into.

Club 85, in Hitchin, are hosting a Halloween Hoedown that mashes so many genres together it would make Doctor Frankenstien proud.

Lycra clad death metal eccentrics Aghast! are headlining the event who inject a sense of showmanship into the often po-faced genre without sacrificing technical ability or brutality.

The next piece of the musical monstrosity is provided by country punk maestros The Trailer Trash Orchestra.

The group sound like the illegitimate love child of Johnny Cash and The Ramones, but manage to make the unholy union feel totally convincing.

Post-rock power trio Arc Generator and hip-hop scoundrel Richy Spitz are footing up the bill with DJs spinning creepy classics and drum’n’bass.

Rogue Promotions have organised the night, taking place on the 30th, and entrance is �6 on the door.

Teenagers across North Herts will also get the chance to terrify at Bowes Lyon, Stevenage, on the 29th.

The Metal After Dark night features Sacred Mother Tongue, who are fresh from Sonisphere, Glass Artery, Fearless Vampire Killers and Efferus.

A Metal DJ will also be spinning underground hits in the unplugged room.

Entrance is �6 on the door and only those lucky enough to be aged between 13-19 are allowed entrance

The event is strictly alcohol free.

Que Pasa, in Hitchin, are adding a little sauce to the morbid proceedings with their Sweet and Sexy Halloween Special on the 28th.

Featuring top DJs and running until 2am, entrance price varies on the time, so make sure you get there early.

The Red Lion, Stevenage, are also running a special gig on the 30th featuring cover band Metalworks.
