A GRADE I listed church will provide the venue for this year’s Kimpton Art Show, which features more than 60 artists.

The show, now in its 30th year, will be held at Kimpton Parish Church from tomorrow (Friday) until Monday.

Hitchin based artist Nick Harrison Jones, who has been drawing for the last 20 years, will have his paintings of The Corn Exchange and Hitchin Town Hall on display at the exhibition.

Speaking to The Comet, he said: “The most interesting thing about my work is it’s all done in one take. It doesn’t always work but I do try! I enjoy drawing local landmarks and making them larger than life.”

Tomorrow’s opening night from 6pm to 9pm costs 3.50 for entry and includes a complimentary glass of wine or juice.

The festival is also open on Saturday from 11am to 6pm, Sunday from 12.30pm to 5.30pm, and Monday between 11am and 4pm.

Entry is 1 or free for children, with all proceeds going towards Kimpton Parish Church Restoration Trust and the Kimpton May Festival Committee, for the benefit of village organisations.
