With loads of award-winning artists playing in a beautiful setting, Folk By The Oak makes a welcome return next weekend.

The festival of folk, now in it’s fourth year, takes place in the parkland surrounding Hatfield House on Sunday July 24.

Mercury Music Prize nominee and BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner Seth Lakeman tops the bill with support including Show Of Hands, who won the Folk Award’s Best Duo and Original Song last year, and folk supergroup Drever, McCusker, Woomble.

The Young One’s Adrian Edmundson will also be there with his Bad Shepherds playing punk songs in a folk style, as well as traditional balladeer Bella Hardy, Radio 2 Young Folk Award nominees Tyde, and the sultry vocals of Kathryn Roberts with guitarist Sean Lakeman.

The atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly and best of all you can bring a blanket, a bottle of something cold and a picnic while watching some of the best of the new generation of folk artists.

The gates open from 1pm with the music kicking off an hour later.

Tickets are 33 for adults and 15 for children, or 88 per family from www.folkbytheoak.com
