Folk lovers have three days of music to enjoy from today (Thursday) as Baldock and Letchworth Folk Club hosts their annual festival.

All taking place at the club’s home at The Orange Tree in Baldock - both inside and in a marquee in the garden – there is a whole range of styles on offer from Americana to English traditional.

The club continues its open-spirited ethos tonight with an open-mic session open to anyone who wants to come and play and listen.

Then Friday night is Ceilidh and barn dance evening with Tam Lin and club chairman Alan Hewson making the calls.

On Saturday there is a full day of music, kicking off with a guitar workshop at 10.30am, followed by Baldock Midnight Morris dancers at noon. Then an afternoon of music from 2.30pm includes flute, sax and vocal trio The Wayward Princes, comedy and song from Richard Harradine, finger-picking guitarist Adrian Hall and traditional instrumentalist duo Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer.

From 8pm the music kicks off again with acoustic guitar singer-songwriter Pat Crilly, Old Time banjo man Dace Stacy, club legend Malcolm Hobbs and Radio 2 favourite - multi-instrumentalist and ten album balladeer, Pete Coe.

Tickets – which vary in price – are available on the door, or for more information call Alan Hewson on 01767 683583.
