A BBC Radio 2 musician of the year will bring his virtuoso playing to Baldock next week.
Tom McConville, one of the leading violin players in the world and a fine singer to boot, will be at the Orange Tree on Wednesday night for the first of the new season’s Baldock and Letchworth Folk Club sessions.
Known as ‘The Newcastle Fiddler’, Tom is a veteran of the folk scene going back to the 60s and combines a range of styles, from fast dance tunes to slow airs.
Playing alongside Tom will be acoustic guitarist and singer-songwriter David Newey whose in-demand playing encompasses both flat pick and finger styles.
Entry is 10 concessions and 12 for non-members.
