If you ever pictured yourself whirling round to a country dance band with straw in your hair and dust on your boots then tomorrow is the day to it (minus the straw, probably).
The Unicorn Ceildhs, who take their places dosey doe on the sprung dance floor of Hitchin Town Hall on the last Friday of the month, will have a special caller and one of the most popular bands on the English folk scene this Friday.
Veteran caller Dave Hunt will be calling for his 200th band – PolkaWorks, the five-girls-and-a-guy, fiddle, melodeon, hammered dulcimer and piano outfit - promising a joyous night of old-school dance, or just toe-tapping with the real ale at the bar.
Entrance is a tenner from 7.30pm.
