A DOUBLE helping of comedy visits North Hertfordshire for Christmas cheer of a different kind.
Lastminutecomedy Club’s monthly offering sees The Rev Obadiah Steppenwolf III grace Hitchin for the first time tomorrow (Friday), before a repeat performance in Letchworth GC on Saturday.
The Scottish comedian bases his act on an American deep-south preacher. It is definitely not for the faint-hearted but could be the perfect antidote to a belly full of microwaved turkey and Cliff Richard on repeat.
For the gig at Woodside Hall in Hitchin, he will be joined by dark-metal cross-dressing alternative comedian Andrew O’Neill who has performed all over the world.
For Saturday’s show at Letchworth Arts Centre, The Reverend will instead share the stage with comedy musician James Sherwood.
Compere for both nights is Paul B Edwards, who says he has returned from gigs in Prague, Vienna and Budapest “relatively unscathed”.
Doors open at 7.30pm for each show, with an 8.30pm start.
Tickets are 10 or 8 for members, and are available in advance for the Letchworth GC show on 01462 670788 or at the Arts Centre between 10am and 3pm, Monday to Friday.
