A GIANT of jazz will be raising the roof of a church hall this month to help raise funds for its tower.
Legendary trumpeter Kenny Ball and His Jazzmen will make their second visit in 18 months to St Mary’s in Meppershall to help fund the restoration of its 800-year-old tower.
Chairman of The Friends of St Mary’s, Trevor Thorley, said last time the audience were in raptures – “he wanted to come back and the feeling was mutual”.
The hall will be transformed for the night to something “akin to a theatre”, he added.
For tickets at 15 and 20 call Trevor on 01462 813357 or email trevor.thorley1@btinternet.com
