FOUR lives intertwine in a stinging portrayal of modern love and betrayal.

The Bancroft Players will take to the stage next week for four performances of Patrick Marber’s Closer, which won a Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play in 1998.

The charater-led play starring Hannah Fishwick, Sarah Leigh, Paul Wade and Jon Brown chronicles the love affairs, rivalries, seductions and betrayals of two men and two women over four-and-a-half-years.

The show at the Queen Mother Theatre in Hitchin is directed by Dan Writer in a free, intense style, both sensitive and at times obscene in its composition.

Nightly performances at 7.45pm will take place in The Studio at the theatre off Walsworth Road from Wednesday, October 17, until Saturday, October 20.

Tickets are 8 and available at the box office by calling 01462 455166 or via www.queenmothertheatre.org.uk
