A school of rock is holding its first concert with around 50 pupils getting on stage.
Whammys Academy based at Marriotts School in Stevenage will be showcasing the talent of its youngsters on Monday December 17 with performances of classic material from the likes of Queen through to Foo Fighters and Kings Of Leon.
Academy organiser Ali Loaker, who set up the school this year with help from Stevenage rock band JoanovArc, who help teach, said: “It’s a chance for the public to come along and see what these kids have achieved and to see what a positive thing it is for Stevenage.
“There will be smoke, there will be lights and best of all there will be loud rock music!”
The concert will be held from 7pm in Marriotts assembly hall. Tickets at 2 are available from Whammys Music Store on Stevenage Indoor Market, or on the door on the night.
