This Sunday sees a special night for Hitchin Folk Club as they host a memorial night for Pat Rogers, the club's long-time resident singer, at The Sun Hotel, Hitchin. Many guests are lined up including various members of Flaky Pastry, past and present, plus Bill Reed, John Pocock, Heather Day, Emily Slade, The Steam Arm and Leg Show and Pat's daughter Beth Rogers. * Down the road, also on Sunday, Hitchin venue Club 85 plays host to local favourites The Otters and Envoy. "We plan to do two sets each and then have a big jam at the end of the night," explained Envoy guitarist Dave. "There will also be a professional VJ doing visuals throughout the night." Chaos Theory will be kicking off the event from 7.45pm so arrive early. Entrance to the 16+ venue is £3.
* Stevenage band Grimly Fiendish are looking for a bit of support when they head down to London for the first round of the international Emergenza music festival.
