Written in just two weeks after an evident fit of disgust at his own president's actions in Iraq, Young was keen to rush out these 10 angry protests as soon as possible.
After growing tired of waiting for some young, politically conscientious singer-songwriter to come along and open America's eyes to its own culpability, Young decided perhaps the 60s generation was still the only real protest generation.
This album could easily have turned farcical had Young not funnelled his fury through a great set of songs that refract his gut opposition through some powerful 'metal-folk', as he calls it.
Good to see - and hear - he's still got the fire inside.
