MISERY is brought to the Queen Mother Theatre next week by the Bancroft Players, beginning Monday, May 22.

This adaptation of the classic thriller follows the happenings of a romance novelist who retires each winter to Colorado to write another work featuring his heroine Misery Chastain.

Driving while drunk, he crashes his car and regains consciousness in a filthy, dilapidated farmhouse that is cut off from the outside world by a blizzard.

The schizophrenic occupant, Annie, is his number one fan and insists that she'll nurse him better.

This is where the writer's descent into turmoil begins.

Tickets cost from £5 to £8 and are available by calling the box office on 01462 455166.

Performances begin at 7.45pm and the shows run until Saturday, May 27.
