ZION TRAIN, the providers of the ecstatic climax to last year's Rhythms of the World festival, return to Hitchin's Club 85 on Friday for what should be a cracking show.

Now in their 16th year of touring, Zion Train has 10 CDs under their belts and a full schedule of gigs lined up at venues across Europe throughout the year.

There has been a change up front with one-time singer Molara now focusing her energy on her solo career and young family, but the band are seizing this opportunity to keep their shows exciting by replacing her with a rotating selection of guest vocalists.

Taking the mic this time will be Brother Culture who started work on the Jah Revelation Music Sound System and then progressed to performing alongside the likes of Mannaseh, Dragonfly's Youth, for whom he was the main vocalist on the Dub Trees project, and Mungo's Hi Fi.

The band will still be playing a wide selection of old school classics and newly penned material and, as always, there will be a positive message mixed into their electrifying live show.

Support on the night comes from acclaimed Amersham outfit Epoc whose amazing live drum and bass will really set the scene for what comes later.

In between the live bands, and closing the night, will be Roger T and Benji from Baron Sound Studios playing dancehall and culture reggae classics to keep the room bouncing with positive vibes.

Tickets for the show have sold out but there are likely to be a small number of returns available on the door for £8 each. As always, doors to the 16-plus venue open at 7.45pm. Visit www.club-85.co.uk or call 01462 434801for more details.
