THE rolling and chalky landscapes of Hertfordshire have been captured by artist Susan Saunders and her exhibition is on show at the Boxfield Gallery at Stevenage's Gordon Craig Theatre.
Susan takes her influence from artists including David Bomberg, Peter Lanyon and Prunella Clough and describes her work as far deeper than pure painting due to the disappearance of many of the landscapes she previously painted because of urban sprawl.
Her work is mostly abstract but this series of pastel paintings is of identifiable places.
They illustrate some of the ever-changing colours and light that create the dramatic views surrounding us in this country.
This free exhibition will be in the theatre foyer between March 6 and April 2.
