AS PART of the 23rd Baldock Festival, two neighbouring pubs in the town are playing host to the Sounds of Baldock with a variety of musicians, singers and entertainers all performing this Saturday, May 6.

At The Old White Horse, former X-Factor finalist Aaron Clarke, a regular on the local music scene, will be kicking off the show at 12.45pm. His gritty hard rock voice and energetic performance will set up what should be a fun-packed day.

Next up is hot young talent Alex Holmes, a 15-year-old singer/songwriter who studies at the town's Knight's Templar School.

Following on from the openings two acts are the Abbots Langley Gilbert and Sullivan Society, Tom Fairhurst and traditional Irish musicians Gor Jus Wrex.

Into the early evening and audiences can enjoy topical tropical acoustic duo Matt and Owen Ltd before Aaron Clarke and guest musicians finish off the night at 8.45pm.

Over at the Engine, audiences can enjoy music from 1.30pm onwards, beginning with Rock, Stock and Basil and their mix of 1950s and 60s music.

They are closely followed by Eddie and G, an acoustic covers duo who specialise in a range of sing-a-long covers from artists such as Bob Marley and Outkast.

If jazz is your thing then stay around for Stolen Moments, a seven-piece mainstream jazz group who play a mix of blues, Latin, swing and ballads.

Alternatively, Black Peppuer will be on an hour later, combining powerful elements of rock 'n' roll with four-way vocal magic.

Finishing off the day at the Engine are No Sleep 'til Midnight, a band who, according to some, are capable of flattening mountains and silencing tides in their wake.

Sit back, enjoy a nice pint of ale, coke or whatever takes your fancy, and enjoy a great day of music.
