ARTIST John Chalkley will be displaying an impressive exhibition of over 90 paintings, spanning his 40-year career, at Stevenage's Boxfield Gallery.

John has never kept to one stylistic field but has always been open to many influences which have added to his skill and innovation.

The paintings will be dated to give viewers an idea of his winding path of creativity.

Reccurring themes, such as windows, play a role in John's distinguished work and he is greatly influenced by Paul Klee.

The exhibition - John Chalkley, A Retrospective 1960-2006 - will be on display at the Boxfield Gallery in Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre from December 1 to January 7.

TWO talented artists will be exhibiting their work in the Gordon Craig Theatre Foyer Gallery.

Pat Griffin has a passion for embroidery and Judith Moule enjoys painting with oils.

They both have degrees in fine art from Hertfordshire University and went on to study art further at West Herts College.

They work in a variety of mediums and push the boundaries of art, exploring techniques of linocuts, woodcuts and etchings on metal plates.

Their exhibition will run from December 11 to January 7.
