THE West End is coming to Stevenage next week.
For four nights the Gordon Craig Theatre will stage Side by Side by Sondheim with performers from the West End.
Side by Side by Sondheim is a musical celebration of a man who is known as the best lyric writer of our time - musical dramatist Stephen Sondheim.
Director Paul Laidlaw told The Comet: "It was first done 30 years ago in London as a tribute to the great lyricist and composer Stephen Sondheim to show what a genius he is.
"We have six fabulous West End singers and the show's been written for two pianos and a narrator, who links it all together.
"It's a very relaxed but dynamic evening, a sophisticated evening of music and theatre.
"The music is right across the border of music styles with clever lyrics and some high speed excellent music.
"Sondheim is a great all-rounder.
"It's one of those evenings when you're guaranteed to be entertained for two hours."
Performances will be held at 7.45pm from Wednesday, June 7, until Saturday, June 10. Tickets are £16-£19.50.
