ONE of the 20th century's most influential artists is going to be celebrated locally.
Stevenage Museum in St George's Way will be holding an exhibition from April 26 to June 1 to commemorate the life and work of Henri Matisse.
Matisse: Drawing with Scissors - an exhibition from the Southbank Centre in London - will include 35 lithographic prints of his famous cut-outs and iconic images such as The Snail and The Blue Nudes.
Sue Myson, executive councillor for community and culture at Stevenage Borough Council said: "It is very exciting that we have managed to bring such an important exhibition to Stevenage. I hope people will take this opportunity to come along to the museum to see these marvellous prints."
The museum is open from 10am until 5pm, Monday to Friday. Admission is free.
