Stevenage have named ex-England striker Teddy Sheringham as their new first team manager.
It is a first management position for the 49-year-old former Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United forward, who has 51 England caps.
Sheringham was unveiled to the press at The Lamex Stadium alongside chairman Phil Wallace this lunchtime after signing a three-year contract with the club.
Sheringham replaces the outgoing Graham Westley who sees his contract run out on May 31.
Westley, the man who guided the club into the football league for the first time in 2010, saw his third spell in charge of the club end last Thursday as Boro were beaten 4-2 on aggregate in the Sky Bet League Two play-off semi-final to Southend United.
Following that game Westley revealed his contract was running out and he had not been offered a new one.
