STEVENAGE Boro kick off the new Blue Square season at Wrexham on Saturday but one player who will not be there will be midfielder David Bridges.

Bridges limped off during the friendly with Leyton Orient on Saturday and has suffered a stress fracture to his foot.

Meanwhile, Boro boss Graham Westley has started to slim down his squad to what he says is a more manageable 18-20 players.

This week Jack Bradshaw went on loan to Maidenhead United with Eliott Buchan going to Boreham Wood.

James Russell and George Brinkman are interesting Hendon while Scott Balderson, Peter Vincenti and Luke Cole could end up at Havant and Waterlooville.
