On Tuesday night Boro completed their pre-season programme of games by slaughtering Slough Town 7-1 away.

Lee Boylan slammed five goals with four coming in the first half.

Andy Drury and Calum Willock completed the Boro scoring.

Boro: Drench, Wilson, Willock, Oliver, Thomas, Drury, Nurse, Westcarr Christie, Boylan (Brinkman 72).

With the pre-season games now over Westley reflected on the games and how the players are moulding together saying: "I think on the whole, five weeks of good hard work and we are just about getting through 90 minutes now and there is some good organisation in terms of both our attacking and defensive play.

"But we are in pretty good shape to start playing competitive games now."

Last Thursday night Boro travelled to Ryman Division One outfit Northwood Town and managed a comfortable 3-1 victory.

Westley gave outings to two triallist keepers Michael Jordan and Stephen Drench.

But it was the home side who went in front just after the interval when Adrian Abramian was on hand to fire past keeper Drench who had only been able to parry an earlier shot.

Boro got back on terms when Craig Westcarr found the net after good work from Anthony Thomas.

Boro went in front 20 minutes from time.

Jerome Anderson raced down the right and his cross floated over the home keeper into the corner of the net.

With 10 minutes remaining Lawrie Wilson scored the best goal of the night shooting low past the keeper.

Boro: Jordan (Drench), Wilson, Willock, Oliver, McDevitt, Drury (Burke 60), Christie (Vincenti), Martin, Westcarr (Anderson), Boylan, Thomas.
