England cricket star Jon Lewis will be bringing his Gloucestershire county colleagues to Mid Beds this summer.

Henlow Cricket Club are staging a benefit match for seamer Lewis on Thursday, August 16.

Lewis was named yesterday in the England World Cup squad for the tournament in the Caribbean in March and April.

Sure to be a great family day out, it is open to the general public as a Henlow XI will take on a Gloucestershire side drawn from Lewis' county colleagues.

The event will also include reserved marquee seating with a three-course lunch and full day's itinerary.

It is the perfect opportunity to mix business with pleasure, and marquee seating is available at £40 per person with a maximum of 10 people per table (lesser numbers will be catered for).

Henlow are running two sides on Saturdays in the Millman and two teams in the Beds League on Sundays plus a team in the new development division.

Senior indoor nets will begin on Thursday, March 15, at Samuel Whitbread Community College in Clifton from 7.30-9pm (£3 per player).

Newcomers to the club are especially welcome to attend.

Colts training will begin on Friday, March 2, at the same venue from 6.30-8.30pm (£3 per colt). All age groups are encouraged to attend.

Henlow currently have four CRB checked ECB level one coaches at their disposal as well as a certificated child welfare officer.
