A young golfing enthusiast from Stevenage Golf Club could be on his way to national glory.
Stevenage Rookie Club member Louix Monk (inset) recently won the seven/eight-year-old category at the qualifying competition for the regional HSBC Wee Wonders at Cambridge Lakes par three course.
The eight-year-old, who goes to Benington School, will now compete in the regional finals. The national finals are held at St Andrews in Scotland.
P Twenty Stevenage Rookies played their Mill Green Tigers counterparts from Welwyn Garden City at the par three Aston course last Thursday.
Mill Green won by seven and a half to two and a half in a fourball betterball. The return is in September at Mill Green.
