FOUR first half goals looked to set Hitchin Town up for a big win in Saturday's Southern League Premier Division home clash with Yate Town. But a second half revival by the visitors saw The Canaries holding on for a 4-3 win.
A Josh Sozzo penalty started the ball rolling for Hitchin and goals from Liam Folds, Stuart Lockhead and a second for Sozzo put Hitchin in command before Yate's second half revival.
IN Division One East, it took a Lee Tekell penalty to earn Arlesey Town a 1-0 win at Sittingbourne.
IN the Minerva Spartan South Midlands League struggling Langford edged away from the relegation places with a 2-1 win at Oxhey Jets. Jets took an early lead but goals from Robert Groves and Joe Delasalle earned a vital three points for Langford.
United beat Town 3-1 in the Biggleswade derby, a result which leaves Town just a point above Langford near the bottom of the table.
Arlesey Athletic beat bottom of the table Amersham Town 1-0 in Division One.
