THE referee started Hitchin Town's Southern League Premier Division clash at in-form Bath City before the official 3 o'clock kick-off time and The Canaries found themselves a goal down before they were due to start!
Things got worse for Hitchin when Gavin Jagger was sent off before half-time.
They got back on terms midway through the second half when Thomas Hayes scored following a good run from Glen Lammacraft before eventually going down 2-1.
Two goals in four minutes had Arlesey Town struggling at Berkhamsted Town in Division One East but goals from Summers and Thomas secured a 2-2 draw.
In the Minerva Spartan South Midlands Premier Division Biggleswade United lost their clash with fellow high fliers Aylesbury Vale 1-0, but struggling Biggleswade Town eased their relegation worries when Joel Mason's goal earned them a 1-0 win at home to Welwyn Garden City. Fellow strugglers Langford went down 3-0 at home to Hanwell Town.
Potton United continued their charge at the top of the Eagle Bitter United Counties League with a 4-1 win over Yaxley. Brett Donnelly's opener was cancelled out midway through the first half but goals from Nathan Buckland and Wes Byrne shortly after the break put Potton in control and Paul Garrett wrapped up a 4-1 win. Stotfold shared a 1-1 draw at Ford Sports.
