The North Herts under-11 cricket team (above) have won a place in the district tournament finals.

They were victorious in all three of their games against Stevenage, East Herts and Welwyn/Hatfield.

Qualifying games were held at grounds across the county at the end of May and start of June.

North Herts also had under-13s and under-15s competitions taking place over this period.

Kwik cricket has also proved popular with North Herts youngsters and 14 primary schools taking part in a festival at Letchworth Cricket Club.

The club provided coaching and umpires.

The children coped well with intense heat and the final saw William Ransom A team defeat Lordship Farm.

It is the second year running that William Ransom (below) has been victorious and they will now play in the county kwik cricket finals on Tuesday, June 27.

The event was arranged by the children's services team at North Herts District Council.
