Top-level international coaches will be appointed to run a children's workshop at Letchworth Rugby Club.

The club, in association with Socious Sports, will be running rugby workshops for children aged six to 18 at Baldock Road from August 28-September 1.

Socious Sports is one of only a handful of providers of rugby workshops in the UK and specialises in supplying top-level coaches from New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and the Pacific Islands.

The Letchworth workshop is open to children of mixed ability and playing experience.

The workshop will make use of state-of-the-art training techniques and SAQ (speed, agility and quickness) equipment.

All the children attending the workshop will receive a complimentary Samurai rugby ball, sports bag and water bottle following a recent mutual promotion between Socious Sports and Samurai.

Socious Sports will be running around 100 workshops across the UK with the sessions being led by coaches of the highest possible standing including Peter Schuster (Samoan national team coach/manager), Ian Doust (All Black under-19 trainer) and Sirelli Bulicokocoko (Fijian Sevens coach).

Socious Sports director Gary Philips said: "It is our objective to give local children a unique opportunity to learn from some of the best rugby coaches in the world.

"Last year, the workshops were very well received by the children, their parents and the host clubs. There appears to be a real need for this type of workshop across the country and we are delighted to be able meet that need."

Parents, teachers or club coaches interested in securing a place for a child on the Letchworth workshop should call Socious Sports on 01727 817191.

The price to attend the workshop is £117.50 (includes VAT) per child.
