In the girls' events, top spot went to Megan Nation who won gold in the 11 year 50m fly and 50m freestyle events and added a bronze in the 100m individual medley.

In the same age group, Danielle Murphy won four medals - two silvers in the 100m individual medley and the 50m breaststroke and two bronze in the 50m fly and the 50m free.

In the nine year age group, Fiona Thornton had a clean sweep of medals with silvers in the 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke and the 100m individual medley and a bronze in the 50m fly.

Team-mate Ellie Fogg took the silver in the 50m fly ahead of Fiona and bronze in the 100m individual medley behind her.

In the 12 year group, Georgia Hazell swam well in all five events with her best finish being eighth place in the 50m freestyle.

Two 14 year olds shared the honours in the boys' events.

Paul Spicer swam well in all of the events but pulled out all the stops to win gold in the 50m backstroke.

Tom Marsland also landed a gold medal in the 50m breaststroke as well as two silvers in the 50m fly and 100m individual medley races.

As well as Paul and Tom, two other 14 year olds were also competing.

Jack Steel was unlucky to finish just outside the medals with one fourth and two fifth places, and Matthew Costello's best result was a ninth place in the 50m fly.

In the lower age groups, nine-year-old Kieran McGowan picked up a third place medal in the 50m breaststroke, while Paul's younger brother, David Spicer, won another bronze in the 11 year 50m fly.

In the 13 year event, Joe Lacy had a clean sweep of medals with three silvers in the 50m backstroke, 50m fly and 50m freestyle and two bronze medals in the breaststroke and individual medley events.
