Jose Mourinho has not been the only one winging his way over to Milan!

The Hitchin Sunday League outfit Broadmead ventured into European competition by representing Comet country in the Coppa Anglo-italiano organised by international charity 'Emergency' in aid of civilian victims of war.

Broadmead played the cream of Milan's amateur teams, as well as attending a special tour of the San Siro stadium, home to both AC and Inter Milan.

The tour ended in glory for the Meaders by winning the tournament in front of the Milanese fans.

In the semi-final, Victor Gonzalez equalised with the last kick of the game, taking the match to penalties, in which Greg Dedman slotted home the winner to break the host fans' hearts.

In the final against the Milano Allstars, goals from Gonzalez, Dedman and two late goals from Chris Day gave the Meaders a 6-4 win and the European spoils.

To top that off, Broadmead sealed a fantastic new sponsorship package with Hitchin nightclub Remix.

A spokesman for Remix said: "This is proving to be a great partnership, with the Meaders promoting our venue at home and abroad."
