HTS Barleycorn had to travel to Northgate End but came home disappointed after a 3-2 defeat. The game between Horse and Groom and Whitwell was postponed due the pitch being waterlogged.
Due to the county cup, there was only one game in the Premier Division which saw Red Star beat Crown Stotfold 3-1 to move two places up the table from bottom.
In Division One, league leaders Shillington were not in action which meant a chance for AC Malone to keep up the pressure at the top which they managed to do with a win in a close encounter away to Chequers Stotfold. Both teams were in front during the game but it was Malones who came out victorious with goals from Sean Duigan, a brace from Kyle Stephenson and a hat trick-from Adam Watson.
HTS Barleycorn Res had a fine 4-1 win against Whitwell Res, while Kcinsatop Res did even better in beating Jackmans Jackdaws 6-1.
Wanderers gained their second league win of the season against fellow strugglers SMU. Two first-half goals by Dean Burns, the first a header following a superb cross from Mark Norriss and the second a shot from close range, gave Wanderers the lead.
Then a third shortly after half time by Jas Badeshia looked to have settled the game but SMU had other ideas and scored two late goals to leave the game hanging in the balance.
Division Two side Cannon Res gained their first victory of the season thanks to goals from Rob Drayton, veteran Adrian Gray (43 years old) and even older Phil Mitchell, 45, in their 3-1 win over Dynamo Letchworth.
Broadmead moved above Ocean's Eleven in the table after defeating them 4-1. Broadmead took the lead through Mark Whittaker before Ocean's came back as Trevor Long found the corner of the net from outside the box.
On the stroke of half time, Graham Robinson rose to head home a Steven Young free-kick to restore Broadmead's lead.
In the second half Broadmead got a third when a Young corner was slotted home on the half volley by Victor Gonzalez at the far post. The victory was sealed as Mark Whittaker coolly slotted past the keeper.
The clash between the previously two unbeaten sides in the division saw North Herts Hatters lose 6-0 to leaders Operation Swordfish with goals from Harrison Holland and Scott Rennie, and two each for Jack Gregson and Kane Dougherty, one of which was an acrobatic bicycle kick from outside the penalty area.
The local derby between Shillington Sunday and Clifton Sunday had to be postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
In Division Three, AC Malone Res edged out Walsworth 5-4 in a nine-goal thriller.
Walsworth scored four goals in the first 20 minutes. Gavin Fitzjohn managed to get a goal back for Malones just before half time and then after the break, goals from Dean Stephenson and Darren Matthews plus an own goal made the scores level.
With 15 minutes remaining, Kevin Fisher, who had been in goal for the first half, was in the right place to score the winner and double Malone's points for the season.
Athletico Hitchin remain top of the table on goal difference after beating bottom of the table Paynes Park 6-1.
Clifton Sunday Res recorded their first win in three games as they beat Wanderers Res 6-1.
Goals from Dan Sullivan and James Tizard gave Clifton the edge at half time but it was not until Will Pitts added a third with 20 minutes remaining that the floodgates opened.
Tizard added his second of the game while Phil Mansford and Rhys Tudbull also got on the scoresheet. Mayo Fadaka got the consolation goal for Wanderers Res.
Green Man Ickleford bounced back from the previous week's defeat to win against LGC Spartans, also by the score of 6-1.
