Stonehill Primary School in Letchworth GC was one of a hundred lucky schools in the country to be selected for a new tennis programme.

Run by the LTA and sponsored by Ariel, it meant the school received a full set of equipment including small sized tennis rackets and specially adapted lower nets.

Coaches from the Letchworth Tennis Club have been teaching children as young as four-years-old to play the game.

Head coach Steve Shea said: "While the focus of these sessions has been fun and enjoyment of the sport, tennis is also great for improving children's co-ordination and staying fit."

Mini-tennis sessions are run after school at Letchworth Tennis Club for all children aged five and up. Call Maddy on 01462 675444.
