HITCHIN Bowls Club beat Riverain 75-57 having won on two rinks and lost on two.

Hitchin's highest wining rink of plus 16 shots was Sid Wheatley, Gerry Billingham and John Bearman on rink five.

Hitchin was also successful in their match against Royston which they won 81-64.

The victory was secured by a great win on rink four by Ruby Males, Neil MacLeod and Mike Wadsworth.

Hitchin also saw their good league form continue with a 31-28 victory over Whitethorn.

In the first of just two home fixtures, Hitchin took one rink plus the bonus for best aggregate score, while gaining some revenge for their exit from the McMullens Trophy by Whitethorn three weeks earlier.
