A TRIO from Stevenage Golf Club were a whisker away from winning the Herts Junior Champion Club tournament.
Daniel Gibson, Ben Bowles, and Tom Farmer were all playing off 10 handicaps at Bishop's Stortford Golf Club last month.
They put together a fantastic team score of 79 points and finished runners-up to West Herts GC who also scored 79 points.
West Herts won by the narrowest of margins - on countback over the last six holes.

Best individual round of the day was by Stevenage's Gibson who shot a gross 76 for 41 stableford points.
This was the first time that the club had entered the tournament, and their performance reflects the high standard of golf now being played by the juniors at the club.
