There were winning performances from two Stevenage girls in the London and Eastern Region Diving Championships at Crystal Palace.
Lauren Jones and Maddie Maranian gained a double gold by winning their respective age groups from the one metre and three metre springboards.
Both girls easily qualified for the national finals in Southampton over the weekend of March 31-April 1.
Coach Derek Beaumont said: "These performances are even more significant considering the comparative short time of five months that the two girls have been involved in the sport."
Both Lauren and Maddie represented their club, the Beaumont Diving Academy at Hatfield, the previous week at an international meeting in Eindhoven, Holland.
This experience proved invaluable as both divers raised their level of performance at Crystal Palace to edge past far more experienced competitors.
