CometSport can reveal this morning, Stevenage boss Phil Wallace is set to meet the clubs ‘preferred candidate’ to take over the vacant role.
The Lamex outfit parted company with previous boss Darren Sarll on Sunday after a series of disappointing results culminating in the side throwing away a pair of two goal leads over the last week.
According to club sources, the Broadhall Way supremo is to meet with current Nuneaton Town manager Dino Maamria, who has previously spent three spells at the club.
Maamria, who is a popular choice amongst supporters, has been backed from 4/1 down to 2/1 on Monday morning.
Barnet sacked former Stevenage boss Graham Westley on Monday morning, replacing him with Martin Allen, which has seen the bookies install the former Preston boss as an 8/1 shot to take over the reins at the North Herts club.
However, CometSport understands Maamrai is millionaire Wallace’s strong first choice.
