The Comet Stevenage Sunday Football League round-up

Second Division side Station are on track for Herts Sunday Intermediate Cup glory.

They made the last eight with a two-goal victory at Selex Green. Ian Woodfield opened the scoring on the hour mark and Martin Preedy finished the tie with 15 minutes remaining.

Lee Wilson and Ryan Jackson netted to no avail as Propak's journey was ended by Apoel.

In the KLM Challenge Cup, Ali Collins and Ian Canning struck as Breachwood Lions set up a tie with Mallard after victory over Broadhall Res.

As with many games, the pitch had a crisp icy crunch to it but that did not stop the Lions completing their scoring inside the first 10 minutes.

Iain Turkentine's precise through ball saw Collins fire home before Adam Burnage's free-kick found Canning, who headed home. Collins later saw Paul Saunders make a superb save from his penalty.

Perry Phillips (two), Jordan Mullen and Riki Dance were on target as Division One leaders Mallard won comfortably over Stevenage Colts, for whom Glen Cook netted.

Norwich Union will feel that wins come like buses. Having picked up their first of the season last week against Rising Sun, they were successful again over FCFL.

Good work by Greg Collins and Ed Holloway allowed James Anderson to fire into the bottom corner from the edge of the box for the opener.

FCFL equalised before half-time when a 40-yard lob from the influential Lee Allinson found the back of the net.

Rob Flack went through one-on-one and chipped the keeper before Dave Banks finished from Holloway's pass to put Union in control.

FCFL got one back with 10 minutes to go from a rebound after an excellent save by Jon Pace, back in goal after recovering from injury, fell at the feet of Michael Bunker.

The centre-back pairing of Graeme Duff and Tim Russell were outstanding in tricky conditions.

Division Two leaders Coopers wiped the floor with Marquis of Lorne.

Paul Cotton's shot squirmed under goalkeeper Simon Buss and Carl Thompson struck as Marquis scored the first and last goals of the game, sandwiching double-figures from Coopers.

They hit back with two in as many minutes when Gav Acton found Steve Harris unmarked in the area to score, then Brad Harrison found Christian Goodyear to strike home.

The goals came from Harrison (four), Goodyear (two), Michael Gwilliam (two), Acton and Harris.

Ricky Bridge (two), Hayden McColm and James McColm netted as White Diamond Security beat Newman, Danny Rollinson and Mark Ancora replying.

Hogshead stayed top of Division Three after beating Fox with ease thanks to Brian Every, Jamie Campany, Adam Lusby, Adam Heley and a Brendan Harper own goal.

Two errors cost MBDA Res the points. Tony Davies capitalised on some hesitant goalkeeping for Hen and Chickens' opener and Alan O'Neill's free-kick from the wing went straight in for the winner. They sandwiched a Dave Byatt strike from Andy Jackson's cross.

Despite going behind to Pete Summers' goal for White Horse at the break, Steve Koop (two) and Nik Tribe struck as MC Racing finally gained their first win since the opening day of the season.

All the other games failed to take place due to yet another hard frost.
