HAVE you got the Tennis X Factor?

Lister Tennis Club in Stevenage is hosting an exciting competition to find players with the potential to achieve success in tennis on Saturday, February 25, from 10.30am.

This event is open to everyone and no previous tennis experience is needed.

It will not be about beating others but about beating your own individual targets which will be given to you when you arrive.

Competitors will be given a one hour coaching session with all of the players in their category, by the mentor of their category, which will be one of Lister Tennis Club's top coaches.

Each competitor will then have to complete a series of tennis challenges which will test tennis ability.

These are taken from the new LTA Raw Tennis initiative.

Raw tennis is described as the new face of tennis for young people, presenting activities in a way that suits them both on court and online.

It provides opportunities for players of all abilities to have fun, build their personal and tennis skills, enjoy competition and be inspired to sustain their interest in tennis and sport.

The person who beats their allocated target by the most will win the Tennis X Factor and will receive the first prize of one year's free membership of Lister Tennis Club.

There are many other prizes available, including free lessons, depending on the number of entries.

All members of the family can be involved in this fun day of sport.

Age categories are under-11, 11 to 17 and adults (18 plus).

Fees are £5 children, £10 adults and £20 for the family.

If you are interested, please call the club in North Road, Stevenage Old Town, on 01438 721515.
