It was the boys from Red Star who came out on top, Shaun Turner and Martin Young netting as they beat Whitwell 2-1, Wayne Mullooly scoring in reply.

In Division One, Steven Lugg, Aaron Hare and Matt Bond scored as AEK Letchworth came back from their visit to Whitwell Res with a 3-0 victory.

Angels Reply got their season up and running as they beat bottom of the table HTS Barleycorn Res 2-1, Steve Flattery scoring both the Angels goals with Danny Clarke replying.

Offley were impressive 3-0 winners at Kcinsatop Res.

Adam Sayer, Lee Sharman, Dave Ferguson and Lawrence Allard each found the target as SMU overcame Wanderers 4-1.

In Division Two, Broadmead continued their impressive start to the season as they beat fellow new boys North Herts Hatters 3-2 with goals from Brendan Harper, Steven Young and Mike Bryder.

The game was delayed as one of their players, defender Steven Currell, suffered a serious leg injury after only 20 minutes and was taken away by ambulance.

SMU Res fell to a 3-2 defeat at Dynamo Letchworth despite goals from Rob Herd and Sean Huse.

George and Dragon continue to climb the table after a comprehensive 6-2 victory at home to Paynes Park.

The Park and Wanderers Res shared the points as they fought out a 1-1 draw.

Wilbury moved away from the bottom of the table after beating Baldock Sunday 4-2.

Ten of the 12 sides involved progressed to the next round of their respective competition.

In the Herts Sunday Senior Cup, Kcinsatop were involved in a real ding-dong battle before eventually running out 6-5 victors against Old Red Lion.

Stuart Potasnick and Luke Donnelly scored hat-tricks for Kcinsatop who played for 70 minutes with just 10 men.

Bar Absolute were 7-3 winners against Bradmore Rovers and Simon Flecknell and Jody Jordan scored as AC Malone edged out Grove Hill 2-1.

Dorian Small led the way with a hat-trick for PJ Hitchin as they beat St George Crusaders 6-3, the other goals coming from Ryan Foster, Adie Turner and Gareth Grant.

Cannon enjoyed a 2-0 win at home to Broxbourne, Simon Umney and Jack Gregson finding the target.

In the Centenary Cup, Shillington thumped Chameleon 6-1 but The Five Bells found it tougher going at Hillymead Homers as they lost 13-0.
